Urban habitats, like all habitats globally, have seen unprecedented decreases in biodiversity in the last 40 years. Regeneration of any sites in an urban habitat therefore have a huge impact in stemming this tide of species loss. The Tramore Valley Park has been a huge success of this front, allowing species that are elsewhere being squeezed out to thrive. John O'Sullivan will lead a walk through the park to show the bountiful biodiversity present, with particular emphasis on the insect population. John will show how the area once know as Ballyphehane Bog and then "The Dump" holds huge potential in acting as an urban bulwark against global biodiversity decline.
